Resurfacing

I haven't disappeared, though I definitely lost my momentum there for a few weeks. A few things happened: I sprained my lousy ankle on Boxing Day and have had the past few weeks off running, which sent me into a spiral of depression and bad eating, I turned 30, I gained 5 pounds, I had to finish my critical thesis, and my uncle passed away. All Big Things. And my ass is paying for it, people.

How do you regain momentum when you slow down? Seriously, I am missing my groove (and running!)

I don't know if your question was rhetorical, but I've found that if I break things down into teeny do-able steps, I'm much more likely to pick momentum up again. The whole "I will work out for 5 minutes, and if I feel like doing more after that, great, if not, then I can stop" kind of thing. It sounds like you might need to find an alternative form of exercise until you are healed? Good luck with the "life" stuff too.

ugh. Hang in there, that's a lot for one little person to take in such a short period of time.

Hey,

Just found your blog, and I think your running is so inspiring! I too, am on this weight loss journey and ran my first 5K this past summer.

Hope your ankle is better soon!
